MTC Time coming to a End!

Scott and I entered the Missionary Training Center (MTC) on July 14th and we will be leaving for Indonesia in a couple of days. Below are some pictures: One of Scott pointing to Indonesia and me pointing to Arizona on the map of the World.  Second Picture of us both pointing to Indonesia. 


 As our time here at the MTC comes to a close, Scott and I are so grateful for the time that we have had here.  We met some wonderful couples that are also heading out to other missions.  We have really bonded with them and feel that are hearts are knitted together.  We are so grateful that we have met them and will always hold them dear to our hearts.   The places that we are going: The Philippines, Texas, California, Louisiana, Peru, South Africa and Indonesia.  



We also met the younger missionaries that are also going to Indonesia.  They are so sweet and full of energy.  They make me so happy to be around them.  They left for Indonesia on Tuesday July 22.   We are excited to see them again soon.  (5 days)


 We had a very spiritual time at the MTC.  It was a strong reminder to me about what the true meaning of life is.  The main reason for our lives is to come unto Christ!  In the Book of Mormon it states:

For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God: yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.  Alma 34:32  

This made me really think.  Am I preparing to meet God?  Another thought that made me really think is: What think you of Christ?  What do I think of Christ?  Jesus Christ is the corner stone of our religion.  He is a sure foundation whereon we need to build our lives on.  Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.  I love my Redeemer Jesus Christ!

We had a devotional about The Character of Christ and becoming like him. 

The character of Christ is to turn outward in Love, Compassion and Service to your fellow brothers and sisters.  While the natural man is to turn inward and is self-centered, self-absorbed and selfish.  This made me think.  What is my character?  Am I becoming more like Christ and turning outward towards my fellow man or and I turning inward thinking of myself and my needs?  

There are some beautiful murals and pictures of Christ here at the MTC.  I wanted to share my two favorites.  I love the one with Jesus smiling.  I think of Him that way.  I also love the one with Him showing His love and compassion for the woman.  These two pictures are how I view Jesus Christ.

Arrival in Indonesia!!

WE HAVE ARRIVED IN INDONESIA!!!!  We flew from Salt Lake City to San Francisco to Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia.  We left on Sunday evening July 27th and arrive (after about 30 hours) on Tuesday July 29th.  The Mision Leaders, President and Sister Mak picked us up at the airport.  Here are a few pictures of the Singapore Airport. one of the most beautiful airport terminals in the world.   We will be staying in an apartment that is attached to the Mission Home and Office.  So, we will have a long 5-yard walk to the Mission Office every day for our work.  I thought we might have a mile or two but surprise it is just out our door.  We have a lovely garden in the front yard of our apartment.   Scott is standing outside of our apartment door.  It is a two-bedroom apartment, but we will use the second bedroom as an office.  So, really a one-bedroom apartment with a study.               ...

Two Weeks to the Begining of our Mission Adventure!!

Selamat pagi!!!  (this means good morning) Scott and I are about to start our adventure!!  We are going to the Indonesia Jakarta Mission.  We will go to the mission training center on July 14, 2025.  I will be doing a blog so that you can follow our adventures.  Just two weeks to go!!!  We are busy packing and making sure we have everything ready.  I am looking forward to sharing our mission adventure with you. Fun Facts about Indonesia

 I thought I might write a few fun facts about Indonesia.  We will be living in the city of Jakarta on the Island of Java.  Java is the most populated island in the world.   1. Indonesia and Monaco have almost identical flags Both feature the same simple design of a red and white band. The only difference? Their dimensions: Monaco’s flag has shorter proportions. Indonesia’s flag was adopted in August 1945 after the country achieved independence from the Netherlands; the red represents courage, while the white represents purity.
